Norma Jara Arellano
Peruvian designer with a background in Economics and Industrial Design from the Pontifical Catholic University
of Peru (PUCP) and a Master’s in Design for Kids and Toys
from Polidesign, Italy. Specialized in 3D modeling, digital fabrication, and strategic design, with experience in
developing user-centered products and services. I have
worked as a Service Designer for financial institutions
in Peru, enhancing user experiences through
research-driven solutions.
Work Experience
As an independent designer, I have collaborated with clients from the United States, Australia, Thailand, and Hong Kong, providing branding, packaging, digital illustration, and 3D modeling services. My approach integrates user research and market exploration to develop functional and emotionally engaging products.
My work includes a published paper on Tipi, a social robot for children aged 3 to 5, and an intellectual property registration in Peru for a wooden tricycle design for kids. During my university years, I have led social responsibility initiatives, later earning a YLAI fellowship from the U.S. government. With a multidisciplinary background and a user-centered approach, I aim to develop innovative and meaningful products that connect design, culture, and emotional engagement.
Current Time
Currently based in Japan, she is exploring opportunities as an independent artist and designer while immersing herself in the language and culture. Passionate about playful and culturally relevant design, she draws inspiration from the kawaii aesthetic to create engaging experiences for children.
